UFRGS' Historic CenterThe Catalysis School is a pre-event of the 22nd CBCat and will be held at the Cultural Center of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Porto Alegre, RS, from September 21 to 23, 2023, with the theme: Catalysts: from design to application. The event will feature 10 lectures by national and international professors, connected to academia and industry, with extensive experience in the field. They will cover basic to advanced concepts of catalysis, preparation, characterization, and application. The event is aimed at undergraduate and graduate students and early-career scientists whose research is related to the areas of Catalysis and Materials.
The 2023 Catalysis School will be held at the Cultural Center of UFRGS, a completely restored historic building that once housed the former Chemistry

Institute, representing a synthesis of the state's construction history since 1898 and considered a cultural heritage of Rio Grande do Sul.
The Cultural Center features multiple environments, each named after Brazilian trees, providing an ideal infrastructure to host the vibrant culture within the university, always in relation to the community. Additionally, the location is surrounded by major avenues that provide mobility for students and is adjacent to Farroupilha Park (Redenção), where Porto Alegre locals often gather to enjoy mate tea, take walks, and engage in physical activities.
